Abasiubong has a proven wealth of experience working with Condensate, Crude Oil, Natural Gas Liquids, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plants. He has imbibed a high level of Safety Health Environment & Security awareness, along with the ability to encourage consciousness and motivate colleagues on issues related to Safety & Health for which he has obtained several SHES awards, designed and implemented interventions with a focus on Safe Work execution and ensuring nobody gets hurt. As Personnel and process safety leader: He ensures clear visibility, priorities, accountability, resources, and stewardship of both personnel & process safety deliverables and encourages a culture of learning in his organization.
Currently working with ExxonMobil as Safety Coordinator (Risk & Safety Advisor) covering Nigerian Business unit( Esso Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited) with the responsibility of Ensuring Safe Execution of various shutdowns, Risk Assessments, coordination, Lead operations input into scoping, development and execution planning of significant maintenance and project activities, oversee work management system implementation effectiveness and review & enhance surveillance plans/programs.
Abasiubong is a COREN Registered Engineer, member Nigeria Institute of Safety Engineers, active member with career experience in the Operations, Trainings and Safety in the Oil and Gas industry with professional qualifications in Auditing, Business Continuity, Business Process, Project, Quality, Health, Safety, Security, Environmental Supervision and Management.
Abasiubong has held various local and international responsibilities which include Production Process Technologist, Operations Specialist, SumTotal Administrator, Assistant Shutdown Manager for various locations in the organization.
Abasiubong’ s skills & interests include Competency Assessment Subject matter Expert, Work Management System Subject Matter Expert, Plant Commissioning and Start-ups (both oil & gas), Hazard Operability Studies, Job Safety Analysis expert, Risk Assessment/Screener, Process Control and Optimization, Operations Excellence, Training & Mentoring, Process Parameters Monitoring, Operation of Wells and Surface Facilities/Equipment, Project Planning, execution, Monitoring and Control, Travelling and New Technologies.
Abasiubong holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
